I have been thinking (JUST THINKING!!! ) of putting dual carbs on my 1300. I am looking at both Empi kits ( http://www.chircoestore.com/catalog//pr ... ts_id=5363 ) and Weber kits ( http://www.chircoestore.com/catalog/pro ... ts_id=2891). Besides cost, what is the difference? Any recommendations :help: ?

I can't comments about those in particular, but I know EMPI had a lot of problems with their Weber IDF knock-offs... from all accounts they are junk. Not sure if they have improved. You could probably buy some used ICT's and rebuild them, then just buy the manifolds and what ever else you are missing...

Thanks for the comments Brian. I am not much into searching for bits & pieces (used ICT's). I like the idea of buying a complete kit. Guess I have some pondering to do.

I did a Yellow 62 with a single port.. The owner bought those empi brand
ICT's and I took them apart and cleaned out everything I could see..
They seem to work well on the car..
But I hear the real issue comes from all out crap jetting and what not.
that they (jets) really need to be bought small so that you can ream them yourself
and get everything exactly the same and know what your working with.
after doing so they are more than workable..

For the time and effort buy weber since FRD kits are not available anymore..

I know a guy here in Austin who is selling a practically brand new (about 500 miles )
set of Kadrons for 300 bucks ..if you wanted to go that way..

For a single port?
K-Dawgs may be a good option Ben...

Thanks for the feedback Tommy. Is the guy with the Kadrons selling the manifolds and linkage too?

I would buy weber over empi anyday. DONT buy the empi linkage, I have found out how shity quality it is. Every Mistake Passes Inspection! The nice thing about the ICT carb is that it has a vac port for your vac adv. distributor. You aren't forced to run a mechanical advance. Another advantage is you can rebush the throttle shaft yourself if you are gonna rebuild a used set. Not hard to tune at all.
