With a 009, timing should be 30 degrees BTC at 3,000 rmps. It should fall to around 10-12 degrees at idle.

maximum of 28 advance tdc at 3000 rpm i never worry about the low range...if full advance is timed then so will idle...idle if you want to check it should be around 10 degrees past tdc (top dead center)

Engine Size plays less of a factor than ignition and cam.

1915 says most likely a 009 then around 30 at full advance..
Rev it with the timeing light on and set it when it stops advancing.
Static is not the way to go with a 009..

What is your current setup?

Actually it has more to do with rod ratio and combustion chamber design ;)

This is why your Brain --I mean Brian ;)

I really have no specific idea of what does what --just general knowledge.. I usually do timing like with the MSD by testing and tuning all day if need be in different driving conditions usually accelerating under a load in third gear tells me how much timing my car can handle.. I hope someday I can learn the little things (which can be allot) to make things work better and thus get more free horse power along with a smoother running ride.. etc..

Anyways just giving you your due props
