My engine breather kit arrived yesterday. I was contemplating where I was going to mount the collection box. I see most are mounted on the firewall. I was thinking about mounting mine of the front of fan shroud. Any opinions?

I have mounted them on the fan shroud before, IMO you need to drill the hole then tack in a couple of nuts like the coil, mine kept vibrating loose when i just used screws.

Thanks for the suggestion Ethan  . I was thinking of tapping the holes. If I go that route, the addition of some Loctite on the bolts might take care of the vibration problem.

Ben the fan shroud metal is to thin to tap out, you might be able to get some self tapping screws but over time i dont think you will be happy with the end result. It will pull out.

Another good suggestion Ryan. Never thought about that. Back to the drawing board.

I would stick with the traditional firewall mounting.....

I hate to have to drop the engine just to mount the collection box. This might be my best option though.

you dont have to drop the motor to install it. I had mine out when we were at Joe's for the party.

I think you have a 36hp shroud? I have a standard shroud and it doesn't have hardly any room near the top to get back at the firewall. That is why I have been looking at other options.
