I have one of those Mr. Gasket ones, and it wouldn't regulate it down to 1.5. When the dial was set on 1, it completely stopped the flow of fuel. I'm using a Holley one and it works perfect. Definitely recommended.

Ive heard the same thing about this one. but I have been running it for about three yrs on my car. to lazy to change it out. it seems to be working well.

3 years and still going. It must be pretty good. With a guage installed it would not really matter what the dial says I could just go by the guage.

Thanks for the heads up. Sounds like you got a fualty one. The Holley is around the same price as the Mr Gasket one, so I figured I would look at some options. Thanks!

Also know that he is running it on dellortos not kads.. and set on 2 he is probably close to 3.5ish much more easier to accept with his set up and length of time that it has worked has nothing to do with if it is good or not for your setup.

if they are the same price then go with one that is guaranteed to be proper..

and if VWracing has one on his kads does he have a pressure gauge and it specifically reads 1.5 PSI?
or is it just hooked and functioning..

because many cars run kads with no regulator straight from the pump but that doesn't mean the kads are working to the best of their ability ..

this is just my .02.......

Here's my set up:
Image

Holly regulator and a gauge (non-oil filled). Set it and forget it. I've had those autoparts store chrome dial ones before and had them go bad and spray gas all over the engine compartment... not very safe IMHO. The Holly stuff is a bit more expensive, but it won't let you down and it's rebuildable. The one on my car now I bought in around 1993 or so.
