I recently acquired a set of 83mm pistons and cylinders but I'm not sure if I can use them for my 36 horse build. I tried fitting them up to my case but the spacing on the head studs is too small to fit the cylinders.

I was also looking for maybe a little more info on them. The cylinder part number appears to be Type 3 which could be my problem? Could this be a 1500 Type 3 set?

I'm not sure if/how they differ, but you can build a big bore 40-horse with the 83s to build a 1385, or a 1500 with a 69mm crank.

I think I would need to machine the cylinders to make them fit the 36 case. And that's what I couldn't tell - are these 1500 (type 3) or big bore 40 horse? If there's even a difference?
