anywhere you have a shaft or hub going into a rubber oil seal I would lube it up, not alot just a little.

What about the paper gasket ... gasket seaker or not .. it is just the cover .

I wouldnt use anything on a paper gasket mostly because its probably a shim of some kind

I use the black RTV. Mine doesn't leak a drop from the oil pump.

put a thin layer on the gasket...black, grey or red rtv searler works great...use the black if ya got it

Maybe I lost track of what you are talking about..

But just to get in ...
I use sealer on the case at the oil pump opening a thin layer
the paper gasket
another thin layer..
install the pump
gears
paper gasket
pump cover.

shouldn't use anything but gasket between the pump and cover..

Should also check and address any groves caused by the pump gears on the cover..
as leaving them causes loss in oil pressure.

paper gasket <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< this is what I was wondering .. I thought I read no sealer (and i did not) but read in another place to be sure and use sealer. they may have been talking about above.
