The car: '72 914 2.0
The carb: Solex c34 (late 80's early 90's Peugot 505, European only)
Its a progressive similar to a webber.
The car ran when I got it and didn't have this issue.
The carb has been soaked and rebuilt, but not using a rebuild kit. Just taken apart and cleaned then reasembled. The problem happened before the cleaning.

The car will run and idle
The car will accelerate through all the rpm ranges
The car will die after acceleration, or maintaining rpms that are higher than idle.
It will run for about 30 -40 seconds then kaput. It will run all day idleing.
We have rulled out electrical issues and it is def a fuel issue. I can keep the car running on carb cleaner when it starts to die.
Any thoughts?

A rebuild kit is $60. 60mike found it. There is damn near NO information on the web on this carb! No diagrams or anything.....

I had the same problem, new fuel filters. One at the bottom of the gas tank, another inline before the fire wall, one at the carb. Also check your fuel pump volumn

sounds like fuel delivery to the carb is the issue. Enough fuel is getting there to keep it ideling, but at elevated RPM's it's draining the float bowl. As Duane said, check for clogged fuel filters and fuel pump output.

Everyone at work has said basically the same Oleyeller and Brian have said. I know the fuel filter we can see looks good, but is there one up front maybe?

So lets kick this around... would float level have any affect on this?

I did put a new fuel sock in the tank. But it has so little gas in the tank, that i guess if there was junk in the tank it could be clogging....
It also has a new fuel pump and lines..... I'll pull the tank and take a look....
