D'licious' Engine Build: This is the thread for my spare motor. I am planning on building a 1750cc. I am gonna use a 74mm crank and 87mm slip in pistons. Engle w110 cam and 1.25:1 ratio rockers. Weber 34 ICT carbs and a merged header. I haven't decided yet on the heads. So here are some pics of what I am starting with. It is a Brasilian Universal case, as far as I know. I would love some help in finding out exactly what it is.

Sweet! That should be a fun little motor!
You will have to add about .10" spacers under the cylinders to account for the stroke. Let me know if you need any help with anything bro! 8-)

Update: Started to tear apart the motor. The heads were held on by nylon locking nuts. The studs are all different lengths, one pulled out. They studs also appear to have some type of glue around the threads....The clip for the wrist pin of the #4 wasn't seated, so it started to gouge. That piston is all sorts of F'ed up! 3 of the rods are upside down! and one piston, doesn't match the others. Ohhhh, and theres about 1/16 of play in the crank! Pix to follow soon. I am really thinking this motor is trash! The oil screen was 1/2 clogged! Holy shit! Question? Do I hafta pull the oil pump to split the case?

I think you do have to pull the pump, but what Brian and I did was tightened two nuts on the stud, and pulled the whole stud out. That's if you don't have the puller.

I'm still tearing it apart. I will post pix tonight. I am not sure if the case is any good, and if I should continue with taking it apart. Question? If I have alot of freeplay in the crank, 1/16 of an inch, does that make my case junk?

The #1 saddle is probably beat all to hell. they can re-cut the thrust surface of the case, then you can get a #1 bearing for a case that has been thrust cut.
