I think you do have to pull the pump, but what Brian and I did was tightened two nuts on the stud, and pulled the whole stud out. That's if you don't have the puller.

Where is your motor build up pics?

I'm still tearing it apart. I will post pix tonight. I am not sure if the case is any good, and if I should continue with taking it apart. Question? If I have alot of freeplay in the crank, 1/16 of an inch, does that make my case junk?

The #1 saddle is probably beat all to hell. they can re-cut the thrust surface of the case, then you can get a #1 bearing for a case that has been thrust cut.

So there is still hope for a good case? Is there anything I can look for on the short block that would determine if the case is no good? I dont wanna waste my time tearing it apart, if I can tell now if its junk!

You can't really tell much till you have it apart. You can look on the top of the case and see if there are any align bore numbers stamped on it. With each bore they *should* stamp the cut they made in thousandths usually, is it might have 020 stamped on it if its been cut once for instance. If its been cut twice it would have 020 and 040 stamped on it, etc. If its been align bored more than a time or two it might not be worth using, especially knowing it will need another bore and a thrust cut...

Well, I got the engine apart. The bearings didn't look that good. The cam bearings were showing signs of wear too. So here are some more pix:

Pix of my Italian Weber 34ICT carbs. I have single and dual port intakes for them. I need to buy linkage for them. They came with rebuild kits too. Thanx Jeff!

Nice work. Our bearings were pretty bad too.

Those carbs look nice! Are you going to throw those onto the motor you're running now?
