Wow after reading just some of the blogs........I think I'll just try to rebuild whats left of the motor in the car. and convert to carbs.

You don't have to go all crazy with the EFI like I did, I'm a little special...short bus special :hillbilly:

type 4 motors fit right in a t3, 200mm conversion FW, bus header, 72-74 bus heat exhangers if you want to keep heat, or heater delete pipes, and a 411/412 air duct w/ some simple modifications. You can easily modify a bus engine hanger to use the t3 rear engine mounts and some shortened idf mani's and you'll be good to go.

still sounds kinda hard for a beginner..I'm going to try to pull the old motor out this weekend.
