 Post subject: It died on me

Stop at a red light and ready to go on first gear and it die on me. Can't start or push to start. Any idea what's wrong? :help:

fuel or spark, one is missing. did your fuel pump die? Coil, points, condenser, etc go out? Blown fuse?

Fuse still good.. Bug have gas...Could be coil or spark plug?

It's not the plugs. Sounds like spark. Wire from coil came off. Condenser or points are bad. If its electronic ignition try a set of points it could have went bad.

Start easy with the fuses. Take a plug off and see I you are getting spark

Make sure the fuel pump didn't die. take the aircleaner off and rotate the throttle arm, like you are stepping on the gas. look down the throat of the carb while you do this, and you should see a stream of gas shooting out of the accelerator pump squirter. If you don't, the carb is probably empty, which would point to the fuel pump.

took the plug out and check see if there any spark when start the engine and got nothing. Also, check coil and it only 10 volt. need new coil?

It should have battery voltage at he coil. Check connections between the coil and key switch. May have a faulty key switch. Using a jumper from the battery to coil and try starting

just order coil, condenser, cap, rotor and point. Hope the parts will be here before the show.
