After driving around and then shutting the engine off one of my weber carbs weeps or leaks gas. Only one carb is leaking. I really can't tell were it is coming from. It seems to be leaking at the throttle shaft-- but it could just be where the leak is pooling. Lower gasket between manifold and carb seems to be wet too. Fuel pressure regulator was set around 3psi. I took the vented gas cap off and the tank does not seem to be building any pressure.

Anyone have an idea of what I should check?

Car runs fine at idle and speed....

Thanks for the help!

Is the throttle shaft worn?

No the throttle shaft doesn't seem worn. (Carbs were bought new a couple months ago)

Check the tightness of all the screws that hold the carb together it must be coming from somewhere also check the fuel inlet.

Check those little brass "freeze plugs" near the bottom of the carb.
It wouldn't be where the top of the carb bolts on, the fuel level is below there...

It happens after the motor is shut off..

and becuase the butterflies are all but closed at idle -from my readings and understanding is the pressure below the butterfly rises to the point it begins to syphon fuel from the bowl and the fuel will trickle from progression ports.

It seemed to have this problem early on .. then went away.. but obviously was waiting for the right circumstance to happen again..

I understand this.. and can certainly be wrong.. They may have an obstruction not allowing the pressure to just bleed out.. possibly in the gasket ? some say you can adjust this by the airbleed also by cracking it op the pressure can be relieved..

Floats are set at 11mm -carbs are new.. regulated with an Holley regulator at just under 3psi..

the leaking is not happening during operation.. it comes after the motor is shut off..

If anyone has a better more specific cure.. that would rock.. because even though I think I understand things and how they function.. I have been known to be an idiot also :) so I'm always up for learning or understanding better than I do now..
