Yeah Tommie they are dual 40 Dels, 140 mains, 60 idles and 160 airs. I did blow out the mains with canned air but I would have never thought to drive without them installed. What exactly would that do?

The thing is, it happened over the course of a day and a half.

I've had a slight hesitation before, but I've always thought it was from the 009. It was also never this bad to where it won't spin up beyond 3k. It normally will go past 5k with no problems in fuel delivery.

You have dual carbs right? I'd pull the main jet stacks . All of them.
Blow them out drive around the block with all of them in your passenger seat. The car won't
Go over 2k or so rpms. Get home and install the main stack sets.then take it for a drive.

sounds like someone did this before when they forgot to install the main jets? :P

Did that. The problem is getting progressively worse. I had to pull off and drive the frontage roads. I stopped at a gas station and now it won't even start back up.

So if anyone is driving the 610 east loop south, stop by the chevron and say hi, lol

*****UPDATE*****

After a few hours, I finally made it to work.

I had hooked up the old blue coil, but no start up. So I pulled the 009 and dropped in the new 094 that I had. It has an Ignitor II module. The new coil is a Flamethrower, not a standard blue one. It started right up, so I'm thinking it was a combination of the coil and/or the electric module. I've had them both in since '99 when I built the first engine.

It still has a hesitation under load at higher RPM's, but it's not nearly as bad as it was. I think now it's just a timing issue. We'll see. Thanks for the help guys.

Cool.. doing this will usually allow larger pieces of junk to move on through.. but if didn't help then it didn't but at least you tried ..

Maybe you also learned hust how much the car runs on the idle/low speed circuit which is just neat to know :)

Yeah I was a little surprised by that. It actually didn't run much worse than it was...

That will help me troubleshoot in the future.

Ok, I thought it was gone, but it's still pretty bad. It seems to come and go, which makes me think its still a fuel delivery issue. Anyone have any more ideas? This is driving me crazy! :furious:
