I experienced some power loss on the way home today. I could barely maintain 65 mph. It's idling fine and low end accel is great, but it hesitates real bad upwards of 3k rpm. I'm going to check the jets and fuel filter.

If you have a coil swap it out and see if that helps.

I do actually have a new blue coil. I'll try it out. Thanks Doug.

I had a coil do that to me once, idled and revved fine, but as soon as you put any load on the motor it ran like crap. Hopefully that's what's going on with yours. If not I think you are on the right track with the jets and fuel filter. Fuel pump could be on its way out too.

Ok well I have an electric fuel pump and a spare one of those too if I need it. I just swapped out the coil and it seems to have cured the issue. I'm about to go test drive it where I can really get on it to see for sure.

I lied though, it's not a blue coil. I forgot that I had bought a whole Ignitor II setup years ago. Since my current setup is already electronic it should be good to go.

I hear ya Wayne. I'm still getting the same hesitation under load even with the new coil. My fuel pump sounds as strong as always so im not sure thats the issue either. I'm thinking I'll have to live with it until I have some better light to work in tomorrow. Thanks for the help guys!

You have dual carbs right? I'd pull the main jet stacks . All of them.
Blow them out drive around the block with all of them in your passenger seat. The car won't
Go over 2k or so rpms. Get home and install the main stack sets.then take it for a drive.
