It will give you a smoother idle, and make it start easier especially in cold weather. Maybe Brian, Tommie, Ryan, or Kostya can chime in they all run them. I personally have never run one.

I've gone back and forth over buying an MSD. I'll be curious to hear what others think that have used it. It will help me make up my mind for a future purchase :hillbilly:

Pretty much what Ethan said. On a motor like yours it won't really make any more power with it.

yea.. But Brian is a MALLORY man...

I will say .. I forget about mine sometimes.. on what it actually is doing back there.. I assume if I took it off.. I may feel the step down but forget the step up since it's been so long..

I do personally know my CPE 40hp I used to run in the old 63 bucket.. would struggle on the hills around here since I live in the Hill Country they're a ton of them.. I hooked up the 6AL to the big cap and changed to a blaster2 coil.. and it would pull those hills like a champ... completely and whole heartedly sold on the benefit it gave that car..
Even Scotts 56 chevy with in line six.. it made a world of difference for that car and the way it pulled itself around the hills out here..

I will say box -coil and wires really need to be all changed over to MSD if you plan to run the box.. as like a blue coil doesn't function near as well as a blaster2
coil does with the box.. and the wires.. well stock wires can work but they are thin and any break can cause the spark to jump out..

Anyone who has ever seen or been zapped by a CDI will tell you it's no joke..

Plugs last longer.. better MPG .. Idling ... power etc.. really can't go wrong unless you don't want to mess with extra wires.. and in MARTIN's case we tracked down an Alt issue where it fed back into the system just enough power to not allow it shut the box off.. that was a mess to track down..
we added a relay to sever the iginition from the system when the key is turned off.. it worked but again was added wiring..

I only had this issue with one other and he had some fancy alarm.. that would feed power and not let the box turn off..

An easier fix for the run on issue is to use the diode supplied on the alt wire going to the light on the dash.
