I can't figure out the poll, all the options on the poll are in a form of a question. it's like i'm playing jeopardy "Alex, I'll take what is 'should I paint my trans'?" for $500.

i better go and check my tranny..its not painted....50 years it may have corroded past the point of no return...

im back....its still there not corroded away yet...ill look again in 50 years....

i would not paint it...waist of time and paint...i think your time could be better utalized by pollishing the inside of the gas tank....now that would realy make a difference...

yep and your tranny has never been out and has about 2 inches of grease and grime on it as well as the factory coating. take that tranny clean it up strip off the factory coating with a wire wheel and i bet in a few weeks it will start to oxidize and form a salty white film... Jackass

Use a brass brush to strip it. If you want to have silver ribs on the tranny use silver paint. Then mask off and paint the rest black. Use a fresh set of hardware to reassemble. Nothing tackier than painted hardware....

i think that coating the high tec germans used to specialy coat the tranny since oxidizing was such an issue was 90 wt earl.....wipe er down with that earl stuff and by the time you look at it agian after driving it tada all covered in dirt and grime...

but if you paint it and polish the ribs then it may oxidize rapidly causing an unknown type of failure since none of us will live long enough to see the results of this oxidizing problem you speak of...
