What is the pros and cons of each when it comes to engine tin and fan shroud?

Powder coating is not able to be 'touched-up' if you happen to ever damage the finish. But on engine tin it may never get damaged...

Yes, I sanded down the old paint, then used gray primer, sanded it down, then black high temp. spray paint. Be sure to let it both primer and paint dry in direct sun light.

I bought the primer at walmart .99 a can. The hi-temp I got a Advanced Auto, they have a glossy high temp. paint.

Sounds like I will go that way. I have seen your engine and it looks good! I am pulling the motor and cleaning up the engine bay and changing out some engine tin here pretty soon. Thanks for the info. See you tomorrow!
