If you PC the beam you will have to completely gut the beam, I know on a T3 that's a major PITA, since there is a really high chance of busting up the bakelite bushings and for us they are NLA

Here is another option instead of POR15, everyone rants and raves about it http://masterseriesct.com/ I'm going to use it on my IRS subframe.

i have to gut and clean the beam anyhow , since we are narrowing it and putting in adjusters...thanks for all the info guys.....

Metal Ready is awesome, I use it on everything that I sand down to bare metal. Sand, wash with soap and water, then let it surface rust over night, then spray some MR on it.

I bought some Por 15 sat but they did not have any Metal Ready .. Do you know where I can get some or will Ospho work just the same?

The metal ready gives the Por 15 to bite on. Most important part of the prep is descaling and degreasing.

I haven't played with Ospho but I hear nothing but good things about it. I have used some "purple stuff" from the auto parts store and that stuff sucks donkey balls.

Ok, what would one use to get POR-15 off of his hands? I have tried paint thinner, rubbing alcohol, baby oil, and acetone.
