It's been a while since I've had a car painted. What kind of options are there for single stage paint nowadays? I dont want base/clear, it doesnt look right on a 60's car to me (non-vw, but I feel the same way about my vw's). It's a 68 cougar, currently original paint, really just needs a sand an shoot. I might even just get by with painting the hood and the fender, the rest of the paint is decent.

So what kind of single stage is out there, and what can I expect to pay for it? Last time I had single stage done was in 95, I think they used a urethane paint, and I think I only paid $400 lol. It was a one day paint shop, Came out damn near perfect though

I painted the buggy with Duplicolor in a can from O'Reillys. I also put the clearcoat on but you dont have to.

yeah, the car is all original and in good shape. I may have AJ Foyt mix me up some paint so I can just match the hood and fender (paint is cracking). The car really does deserve a nice paint job, I just don't like base clear for 60's cars
