I say use more heat. Use a BFH on the sides and the face of the drum to try and break the seal. I wouldn't smack it on the snout. If you hit it on the left side, hit it on the right side next, then top and bottom. I doubt you will bend the drum.

I took that stuck drum off after you left that day. I went to Oriellys and they have a 7 ton 3 jaw puller as a loaner tool. It broke the pistons out of the wheel cylinder and pulled all of the shoe hold down springs off but it worked.

I use a propane torch. Should I be using something else? What kind of torches do you guys use?

I have a kinda big puller on it now. It tightens up and just won't tighten anymore with a big breaker bar. I hit it with a 3lb hammer on the back of the drum on 3 points. It should be breaking loose but it is not. I threw the wheel back on and am just going to drive it and add break fluid as needed until my emotions cool down. :furious:

I use a propane torch too. Its perseverance that will get the drum off. Try a bigger hammer. Heat the snout of the drum and then spray pb blast on the end of the splines to cool it. Do this a couple of times and let it sit over night.

I am going to loosen the axle nut a little and put the pin in and drive it around the block a few times. I hope it will loosen it.
