:furious: I can not for the life of me remove my rear drum. I got the nut off but can't pull the drum off.
I used heat, PB Blaster, and a puller. No luck. Hammered on the back of the drum with a brass hammer and nothing happens. I have the puller tight on it now with PB Blaster soaking thinking it will pop off in the night.
Don't think that will work though. Anyone got any suggestions
I would let it soak overnight with the puller keeping constant pressure on it. By the morning if it is has not popped off, then try the heat again. Don't over do the heat. With pressure on the puller, I would use your hammer and try to hit it from behind again. If you have an air ratchet, you might use it on the puller. If none of this works....stand back and swear at it a few times then kick it and with any luck, it will come right off.
You may already know this: Regarding the heat; If you slow heat the piece that you are trying to remove, the heat will transfer through the piece and on to the shaft,..which will expand the shaft and defeat your purpose. I like to use a big rosebud and fast heat the outside piece, all the time keeping pressure on the drum with the puller. Sometimes two people work better for this process than one.
Good luck!
