OK - here's the scenerio - tail lights are wired up correctly. Correct 2 filament bulb for the parking light/brake light. Turn signals work. New brake switch on the master cylinder. All new fuses. I cleaned up the terminal on the fuse block and replaced the female 'terminal clip' on the end of the wire where it plugs into the fuse block. I removed the double spade adapter that plugs the wire coming from the master cylinder to the wire that goes back to the tail lights. (replaced with a 1 spade and 1 female terminal clip). Brakes work fine, plenty of pressure.

So why are my brake lights no working? I've been banging my head against this for most of last week. Need :help: .

thanks!

check for voltage at the brake switch and have someone press the pedal in and make sure both sides are getting power, if you have a dual circuit same principle applies just make sure one side has power when key is on and pedal not pushed and then when pedal is pushed should have power on all wires

Do they work when you touch the two wires going to the switch together?

Nope - just tried it a minute ago, they don't light up.

sounds like a broken wire between the switch and the brake lights if you can come by tomorrow I will be here and I should have a long enough wire to run a new one

What voltage do you have at the switch? Had a similar prob on mine. Had 6v at the block, but only 2v at the switch. Needless to say it wouldn't light anything up

My wiring is messed up somewhere. I checked the wires at the master cyl with a test light and got nothing, but then i turn on the lights, and one of the wires is hot. I need to stare at the wiring schematic again, maybe take a look at someone's car that's done correctly.

Ya you got the wire on the wrong spot on the fuse block or other wiring is in the wrong spot. it should be hot all the time.

when your lights are on do the brake lights work?
