Ethan and Doug are the self proclaimed brake bleeding guru's  lol, I'm just messing guys :redguy:

Here is how I do it:

adjusters all the way in, and eyeball centering the shoes
put the drum on
torque the axle nut
adjust the shoes till there is some drag on it
adjust the e-brake
bleed...rear right first, then rear left, front right, front left

done, light a menthol and drink a monster

And you forgot to mention it should only take about 30min.... :redguy:

Ok. Where are the guru's? Help. As I suspected the ebrake cable drags on the drum even before I get the drum on all the way. I was told the 68 has a specific ebrake cable and that's what I have. I compared it against the old one and it appears to be identical. I just took the entire rear brakes apart for the second time and put it back together. I do not have the shoes adjusted or bled and I do not have the cable reconnected to the brake handle. However, I can't image those adjustments are going to take out this much slack (See photos). Do I have something wrong? Any thoughts?
Thanks
David

I think you are making this a lot more complicated then it is. If your old cable worked and the new one is the same length then it should be good to go. Yes you will be pulling up the slack when tighten it up at the handle end.

Yep. I attached the new brake cable to the handle and all the slack is gone. Sometimes you have to complete the task before you judge it. On to the other side. Thanks for the comments.
