can someone explain to me why you have to use a six wire switch when using snowflakes? also what is the difference between a 60-61 turnsignal switch and a 58 or 59? |

Because seven would be to many. 58-59 turnsignal switch was made before 60-61. J/K I really have no idea just trying to get my post count up |

I was looking on the samba and it appears the six wire is used because of the semiphores, semiphores are in use with the three wire switch. it appears I am in need of a six wire switch so if anyone has a nice one let me know. I found one in Hawaii for 100.00 bucks but didnt want to spend that much |

I did some wiring diag comparisons. I thought I might be able to pigtale the left front/rear and the right front/rear, but its the brake switch that is wired differently. On a '60 model it goes through the turnsignal switch, on a 3 wire switch it is wired through the fuse block. Because of this it is necesarry to use the 6 wire switch for a car with a 4 fuse block. I can't see a way of modifying it. As far as semiphores go...they are wired just like a peanut. Anybody have a 6 wire I could look at so I could compare it to a 3 wire. I find 6 wire switches for sale, but the handle is F'ed up. Just wondering if I could use a handle from a 3 wire. |

i have an early oval split semiphore switch..its a five wire that is why i could not use it...you need a 6 wire..with a five wire you will have either blinkers in the back or brake lights but not both... |
