I am steadily reconnecting the wiring in the Ghia and after looking at the schematic for the positive battery feed to the starter, it states the line is a 35,0 (mm^2) which is close to a 2ga (AWG). The auto parts stores have only 4 gauge wires. Is it necessary to run a 2 gauge wire? If so, where is the best place to locate one locally that is already assembled. I could go to the local welding supply house and 'make' one, but I thought 8 would check first.

Did you try Lowes or Home Depot. They sell by the foot ... they might have it.

What about jumper cable wire?

Thanks for the idea.
I can find 2 Ga wire and 'make' the lead, but didn't want to if it was not necessary or if there were some pre-fabbed leads available somewhere.

I wouldnt worry about exact size as much as making sure you use good cables

I used 2g on mine, bought it from a car audio store, I even had them crimp the ends on.

use a positive lead from auto zone...every other car on the road uses one...they come in any length you need with the ends already on them...

That's what I bought but when I read the schematic in the Bentley, it indicates the wire is equivalent to a 2 Ga.

I'm using regular parts store cables, never had a problem...
