What could it possibly be!?
I have gone through 3 switches. My 65 bug (euro) 1200 just keeps shorting them out. I pulled the wiring diagram of the samba and checked every line to ensure nothing was in the wrong place. Could it be that the prvious owner installed the wrong starter? Can anyone help a brother out.....

Put a relay in the starter circuit and don't buy the cheap repoduction switches(aka cheap chinese crap).
