Is there anyone who lives close to Friendswood who knows how to do the wiring to the engine, I was told that my 66 beetle was rewired to 12 volt but the new wires I got is a little bit different. The new wires I have are red, blue, green, brown and black. the wires coming out of the car are red, black, blue and green so where does this brown wire go? Also I have a red and yellow wire coming off of the starter, I know the red wires go to the generator but don't have clue on the rest. So if there is anyone who can help me I would really appreciate it

Don't really rewire for 12v you may move a wire from one place to another.. but it's just wires they are extremely simple.

I believe RED = B+ on gen or alt, GREEN = "other" post on gen or alt, BLACK = + side of coil, BLUE = oil pressure switch . The only brown I can think of is the interior light, maybe its a extra.
