I'm putting a oil cooler and fan with a inline thermostat.my problem is not sure of the wire issue. There's 2wires on the fan and 2on the thermostat. Any one has an ideal where they go.

Simply think of the thermostat as an on/off switch and wire in series with the power side of the fan. Keep in mind when adding anything electrical to also install a circuit breaker or fuse.

Yes.. it can be inline on the Ground side of the fans wires.. or the power.. the thermostat will just complete the circuit once the triggering temp
has been reached.

+-- (fans +)---POWER

- --(Fans - ) ----Thermostat wire (one of them) --Thermostat wire (the other) --- ground.
