Help! Need a referral who can help me get my bug back on the road before the TX VW Classic. It has had a heap of electrical problems, replaced the battery, starter, distributor, coil, and today the replaced the alternator. We replaced the alternator today and when we connected the battery, the wire on the right side of the engine started smoking and the plastic melted. I have no clue what else to do... does anyone know a shop in Houston (perhaps near the Heights or inner loop) I can have it towed to or is anyone willing to come look at my car and help fix this issue? I'm ready to pull my hair out - I just want to be able to have it ready to go to the show. Thanks in advance!
