What a POS this thing it! First off, the degree markings on it are just printed on the wheel, which is how most of them are, but it seemed to scratch off *really* easily. I was pretty careful with it before I installed it and you could already see some spots where the lettering was coming off. Also, I checked top-dead-center on it when I was assembling the motor (using a dial indicator to find the *exact* TDC of the motor and the markings on the pulley were off by over 2 degrees!!! It seemed to fit the end of the crank and into the case fine though, so I thought "what the heck." Well, was I wrong. I went to start my new motor today (with the pushrods removed and spark plugs out) and was turning over the motor for about 30 seconds to build oil pressure and fill all the lines and the damn thing seized up! I almost you-know-what a brick! Paul was over and we were looking at it and we could see little aluminum shavings at the bottom of the pulley tin. Paul said he thought the pulley had seized. I managed to get it off and sure enough- it had galled itself into the engine case! It hadn't seemed like that tight of a fit, but I guess it was oversize or something. I suppose its possible that the case could have been undersize, but I doubt it. Also, since the case it aluminum, an aluminum pulley spinning in an aluminum case may not be the best combination ever, but still.

Bottom line is, buyer beware!

Here's a picture of it

It may not be a problem in a magnesium case, or an older case that has been worn a little. The tollerences on mine may have just been stacked against me, who knows. But in general Empi stuff is pretty hit or miss.
