yep you need the slingers that go in the hub.

Is your drum drilled for oil slingers? we had to drill both holes in each drum for Bily's car.

Got one installed and drove the bug around yesterday. Seems to be ok. It was like it belonged there (imagine that!). Drilling through the drum was easy enough. Will get some pics of number two today. My *(&(*^ boot is leaking too. I am really starting to dislike swingaxle boots. I'm off to tradedeficitmart to buy a case of RTV.

Had to redo the dang boot, it was leaking pretty bad...



Took it for a ride tonight. No obvious problems. Hope it's good to go for a little while. I have too many other things to fix! Lowering and replacing parts on the front end and replacing the battery tray (probably the back 1/2 of the pan...) are next.

Looks good. Did you drill an extra hole for the tab?

I came to that realization after the fact. Gee, those holes are just about the right distance for the tabs... D'oh! Strange that they drill one and not the other.

Oh well, that's how you learn. If I paint the drums yellow, they might pass for Swiss cheese.
