No I am not talking about the Bugpak quick steer kit. My explanation..basically lengthening the pitman arm, regaining the usable angle of the short tie rod. The easiest way to tell is to turn your wheels if one wheel turns way sharper than the other dead give away to the problem. Their was a guy who sold pitman arms welded up for narrowed cars on the samba but you can do like Jermey did and make your own pretty easy.

Check your tow-in, should be 1/8" front, zero in the rear. Adding some caster may help too, but if it likes to dart around I would suspect tow more than caster.

And watch the rear end -- if it seemingly walks on you in the back while driving in the rain it is a sign that
the drums splines are stripping out..

Lowered cars in the rear can strip drum splines rather easy.. and then your rear gets really loose -and far worse in the rain..

I've been there and certainly done that..
