Steering dampner is new. I am thinking the alignment might have been done wrong. That is the only thing left that could be wrong. I do want to drive another bug though just to see what it handles like. The only thing I have to go off of is the 74 std bug I drove in high school. I just don't remember it being this jerky.

Was this a TRW box? We had this talk this weekend and the word is they are a hit and miss on being tight or not. Best bet, find a good used original tight german box!

Claymore,did you ever get you steering problem solved. My 67 has the same problem you are describing every since I got the car back on the road after a complete redo. My frontend is new from the steering couple out and has been on three alignment racks.
