If you narrow a beam and just do the drop spindles, but later in the future decide to air bag it, do you have to make/buy a whole new beam in a different length/configuration?

No, but allot more work has to go into it. The torsion leaves are replaced with thickwall tubing, and brackets have to be made for the bags. Along with some machine work to make moveable sections for the center of the beam, to list a few.

if you go with air shocks instead of air bags you will have no problems at all.

anyone ever have a problem with the torsion leaves? my brothers beam was narrowed 5 inches and the shorter springs have none/very little resistance.
I am not sure that the springs were working correctly before, but the amount cut would seem to make it stiffer, and its not stiff at all.
any input would be greatly appreciated

Since I have Ball Joints and Disc brakes and gonna use drop spindles, I was looking to go at least 4" because of the increased track width. So I don't think the shock towers will be staying. I would like to use the air shock approach...
