Never heard of a TL ARO 18 When I googled that I found several of those cars. Here is the square back version notice the fuel door is on the drivers side as well.

Back in early 70's in Brazil, VW Brazil had the chance to create and modify the bodies of few cars to adapt to local market, etc... The TL was one of them that pushed the success of the T3 in the USA to Brazil with a few changes. the fastback model in Brazil was a good selling point and they also made the TL Sport version.(pictures below), strange thing is that was called TL SPORT but no change in the performance, only the addition of the stripes in the outside of the car, factory radio and steering wheel from the SP2. |
