I found out that my beetle was made in sept 1965 but is titled as a 66, it has all the 66 features but the door handles are 65. So I'm confused on what is the right door handles is correct. Does anyone have more information on the 66 beetle?

65 doesn't have the flashers I think 66 was the first year for that. Post a picture of the door opening and the door latch and handle.

From what I've read, the 66-67 had the round button door handles but mine has the rectangle button which was on the 65 and older. As far as the other options the 66 had mine has like the center demister and the emergency flasher switch, so forth and so on

Aug 1st is the start of the new model year, you have a '66.

Your 66 is an early 66. Early 66 had the square button just like the 65. The button changed to the round one in April of 66. So you have the correct handle for your car.
