I don't know that I've ever seen bias ply 135's, but if anybody had them it would probably be Coker --> http://www.cokertire.com/

You do know that 135's in the rain makes a bug become a magnet to the bumper of the car in front of you. I ran a set once, it was a drizzly day. I slowed down for a stop sign, no hard breaking on anything, those 135's locked up and just slid like I was on ice. This was about 12 years ago, before smart car tires were available in the states. I bought a pair of them from CSP and fell in love with them. If you want to go lower then get the 155 smart car tires, their sidewalls are shorter then 135's but you have a safe amount of tread, plus they are cheaper, plus you have more options on brands and performance levels.

If you want a driver then you don't want 135's, all they are good for is show cars/trailer queens and drag cars.

Nope, Erik tried it on his and had problems, but IMHO safety, for all passengers and the VW, is more important then looks.

The smart car tires have a ridge or rim saver by the rim. You would need to grind that off (would not do that) or find another size. But they are a good tire.

135 tires are radial. Nanking makes some Firestone makes some. I never had a problem with 135 even when I got caught in the rain. That used to be all there was and so many people used them and still use then.
