Well, they're buying his machines and designs, and he's going to train them on it all, so hopefully they can at least continue producing his current offerings. Time will tell though...
What's more sad is that the industry is shrinking. BugPack a few years ago, now DRD, I'm sure there have been others, and will be more. It's funny to think about, but even later cars like 60's models are now in their 50's, they're antiques! And young people these days for the most part aren't interested in even owning cars, much less building and maintaining an antique. They're rather just grab an Uber. I don't think the hobby is going to ever go away completely, but it will continue to shrink and hence availability of parts will go down and prices will go up.
