On top of the motor ive become aware of a pretty popular VW engine building book
"How To Rebuild Your Volkswagen Air-Cooled Engine" by Tom Wilson

If anyone has that I would be really intrested in buying/borrowing it off you

always nice to read up a bit before jumping headlong into somthing ;)

I may have a copy of that book but will have to dig around in one of my "yet to be unpacked" boxes.

Awsome deal! Now you need to see how many beer cans you can balance on it before they topple. Bonus points for ashtrays! Any pix?

Picked the motor up 300 buck for the full engine tins and all. Is missing the clutch and plate but thats a small matter. I belive that the engine will crank its been taped up has a centermount solex and still have oil in the sump. Im going to haul it home tommorow and perhaps crank the bad boy up.

Thanks again Kostya.
