just what it says, I am in need of floor pans for my 66 beetle, the last pair that came with the car were just a little to thin and flimsy, if someone has some they are wanting to sell or get out of the garage I will take them as long as they are in decent shape.

I am also willing to get the OG pans out of a Beetle,

if you can help in anyway please PM me.

thank you,
dan

Are you looking to restore your car or just get it to driving condition? Could you strengthen the pans you have? just a thought.....

No the pans that were in it were rusted out and I did have repops that I intended to put in but I just could not get over how thin they were, I know they probably would have been fine but I really would like to put in some pans that are more substantial.

ConcreteAce,

I still have them but after talking to my wife and some friends about it, showing them, and explaining to them what I was not sure of they pretty much told me what Boom said, Except my Wife told me to stop being a obsessive pain in the ass or something to that nature, I remember Obsessive and Ass were said,

This afternoon after dwelling on it for awhile I actually decided to finish fitting up one side and weld it in, I don't know if I am completely happy but they are going in now and I am sure they will be fine, of course it will probably bug me until the day that they need replacing.

Sorry man, if theres something I can do for you or Burk (since he PM'ed me) let me know, I don't like posting something and then take it back.

No worries man, im sure me and ConcreteAce were thinking the same thing. Im building a RatRod so a lil weak pans arent really a problem. Just figured if you had a set that you didnt like might see bout taking them off your hands. But no worries.

For future reference. Wolfsburg West sells Pans that are extra thick. They are primered orange. They aren't cheap. But when you install them you will know where that extra money went.

I had the same obsessive feelings about my replacement pans on my Ghia. I really started to become more concerned about how they were when I was test fitting them. But then I started to become reasonable and thought through how they are supported by the spine AND the mounting points all along the bottom of the car body.

Thanks man, now now I'm gonna piss of my neighbors with the sound of me cutting out my pans at 10pm.

BBQ_Chris, That's what I figured out after enough people told me to go with it, when you say spline do you mean the support piece that is on the back edge right in front of the axle, and with all the pieces weld in I was pretty happy and am sure once the body is on and supporting the outside edge I will be much more relaxed.

I am one of those people that even if it is done "pretty good" and no one will ever notice it will still drive me crazy, but I'm gonna shut up and not let that bug you good people.
