i hope you dont think i was being negative  , i understand how hard it is to know the little back roads when your not from that specific area. the cruise is an easy to follow nice basic drive.

Nope, not taken that way at all. One reason we chose NOT to go down SH146 is that the traffic lights in Seabrook on Sat night are badly timed. We are avoiding this by going down Kirby Dr. to Nasa 1 to 146 S.

Maybe I can get some of my boys to give us an escort thru the towns...

I am going to try to make it. I need to go through the rear brakes, re check my steering, and check out the shorting out brake lights again.

Know the feeling. I thought the same thing about the cruise. Dave is the Cruise director for BAVWC and next year will be different hopefully. I'll have to pass on the cruise. That would mean I'd have to drive past the Kemah event to come back to it again. I'll just be at the Kemah cruise night with the bus. Dave and I have tossed some different things out in emails about the cruise for next year as there are alot better places to drive too and see in the Houston/Galveston area and we can make our own cruise night when a bunch of VW's show up some place for people to view.

as for the traffic prob, that was my main concern. if we were to go straight down red bluff we could continue straight, take a right on todville and its a nice drive with lots of overhanging trees and the bay out your driver window. also it ends at the base of the bridge cutting out 146 traffic all together. just a thought. zoom in and check it out
