 Post subject: Spotted Type 3 Square

Found this after coming from a project site...
The wife of the used lot owner, said that it is for sale but didn't know what he wanted for it and would call me back. Not sure what year it is,but I am sure someone here would probably have that knowledge.

I apologize for the poor pics; I couldn't really get to it with enough space to get a better shot.

It's a 68 or probably a 69. The gas door in the fender is 68 and up. The small turn signals were 68 and 69.

I don't know if type 3s actually ever came factory with an autostick. If they did it was 70 or later.

no auto-stick for type 3, but a true automatic started in 69.

i agree with eric, i would say 69, as i think there is a finger indent for the gas door on 68s.

Just like the beetle ... finger insert 68 Then went to the internal lock in 69. .
