Will a 69 body fit a 61 pan..And what years do most parts interchange? Thanks |

yes it will. you would have to move the rear fender well mount as well as the two bolts brackets on the front beam. |

your second question would require a book. there are alot of interchangeable parts from year to year. its just to much info. for example you can put a beam from a 55 on a 65 pan, but a 67 beam will not fit on a 65 pan but a 67 beam will fit on a 74 standard beetle. you are really asking to much with that question. if you can narrow what your after down I'm sure some of us can help you. |

I had a feeling it was going to be a wide open question. I have a 69 rust bucket and was thinking of getting the 61 pan I found on the samba to start rebuilding my 69. And there are no seat rails in the 61 pan. Is that a problem? Man I'm just full of questions I could write a book asking questions about this project. Thanks for all your info. |

why would you want a 69 body on a 61 pan...the 69 pan rides better usualy its the other way around people put 69 pans under 61 bodies |

I agree if you have the 69 rustbucket pan I would suggest rebuilding it for one its cheaper and two you wont have a bastardized fatchick you will have an original fatchick |

I just thought it would be easier to set the body on a rolling pan.It's a rolling pan with a tranny for $150. minus the wheels and tires. |

whats wrong with the current pan under the 69. If its just that the floors are rusted It would actually be easier and better to replace the pans than it would to modify the body to fit on the 61 pan. |
