thanks! i'll definately look for you guys there. I'll be snapping tons of pics too. I am looking for a 65 and under that runs good (not mechanically inclined) that i can drive everyday. Cheap too, since i don't have tons of money. Thanks again and nice to "meet" all of you - Rudy

It might be an option to buy a running engine, sometimes you can find them cheap, then find a car with no engine, also, they are sometimes cheap. Then you find someone to help you install the engine. You can easily do that for under 2k and have a respectable daily driver.

I'm building a motor with a universal case for my next project. It will fit in a T1 T2 & a T3. Then I know I have a great motor for the car instead of guessing what the PO did to it.

My name is Wayne; I’m not that new to VWs but have been out of it for a few years. My first car was a 2 year 69 type1. I did as much as I had knowledge to it back then. Headers, Hurst shifter, air shocks with coil over lift springs on front shocks. This was needed for the 9 in wide tires on the back and 7 in on the front. All on chrome reverse Chevy wheels. Well I now have a 69 with a sunroof that my son and I are going to restore. Still not sure how far of a restore that will be (frame off or not). I also had a 71 and by son had a 74 that we spent alot of time to keep running because they were daily drivers. So now I'm getting the fever and have time...

My thanks to Bo for telling me about Air coolers and now this forum. I see alot of talent and friendship here. That is what impresses me the most.

I don't have any pictures at this time. I just started tearing into it checking for rust etc.

Thanks

Wayne

Great to see you on the board Wayne! Is your car going to make it to the Poker Run? Let me know if you need a hand.

Thanks for the Bus repair manual.
