Hello all. My name is Mike Mitchell and I work at an auto restoration shop in Humble. Before you give cheers, it's not a VW shop. I deal mostly with domestic stuff from the 50s-70's. I'm not new to the air cooled world though. I spent most of high school (Spring HS) and several years after playing with friends VWs. A grey 69 with black flames comes to mind for the member that owned it.
I am now the first owner of a Beck/Chamonix 550 Spyder built in 2008. I got for two reasons. One, it's different. Two, I was trying to find something a bit more entry level for my customers than the Cobras we sell. I didn't get to drive it much last year because I was busy with work. Now I am almost caught up and am pulling the cover off. Being that it has been over 15 years since I have dealt with kind of monster, I will no doubt be seeking guidance and help from some of you. Thank you for reading.

Welcome to the board Mike. I used to live in Atascocita until last year and drove by your shop on Wilson road to & from work each day. Saw some pretty nice projects around your shop. This board has a lot of air-cooled knowledge.
