Hi all, I started lurking here way back in '09. I met Ryan and Doug this weekend at KAR parts and they talked me into saying "hi".
I started watching this board back in '09 to follow Eliot's progress on his double cab, I'm the previous owner of that bus and had owned it since June of '01 in when we lived in California. It actually took me a while to look at that thread because I had to get over the pain of having to sell (I'm sure many of you can relate).
As far as my VW cred goes, I'm on my 4th bus now. After my wife Lisa and I were married, we took our first bus around the country (in 1999). We were pretty poor then, but we put all our stuff in storage and managed to see 38 states in 3 months (before our savings ran out). Here is a picture of us waaay up in Kennebunkport, Main. The bus is our '62 standard walkthough that I did all the work on including paint and the 1835 motor:

If that doesn't work here is the direct link:

We now live in Kingwood with our two kids and dog. I am self employed (I repair dental instruments) and enjoy spending time in the garage with our latest bus. In July of '08 Lisa and I drove up to Toronto Canada and we dragged back a '55 Wolfsburg Euro Kombi in really sorry shape.
Since this is supposed to be an "introduction" thread and not a "biography" thread I will shut up now and work on posting some pics of our current bus in the "Projects" forum.
