Hey Freebird caught some keeper perch the other day. I hope to get out on the ice a few more times before the spring thaw (still a good 8-9 inches on the lakes I fish). When does spring bass season open in Texas? - or does it never close

Those fish have already been on the grill! You should gut them first!

That thing might eat our 150 pound lake sturgeon! At least it's not an Asian carp.

I took the T'NT for what I thought would be the final ride last weekend. It was an epic 20-mile ride (epic for a nearly 40 year old sled) with a buddy and a couple kids. I broke down at least 20 times - carb issue. I couldn't keep up with the 8 year olds riding a Yamaha Ovation and a Ski-Doo Safari - sad but true.

I pulled the carb off the old 340 and after some tweeks it turned the 400 into a new motor. It ran the best it has all season - my buddy's 1970s Ariens Arrow did not fare so well. He had to push it up hill and it backfired like hell several times

It might be officially spring but the weather forecast is 6-8 inches of white stuff Tuesday-Wednesday. I guess I won't run the gas out of the tank yet

I've said it before, but we took the LAST snowmobile ride yesterday. It's only 34 today, but it should be in the 40s by mid-week. I've had my fun - snow is now a four-letter word.

I took my daughter for a spring ride in the big fields behind the house - lots of fun roller coaster hills. She laughed the whole time.

I'll run the gas out of the T'NT this weekend, clean her up and call it a season. After sorting out the carb issues she ran great the last two weeks. I actually put some trail miles in this year - maybe I'll even title and trail sticker her next year ;)
