so, the bike above is why I went to dallas and back. 19MPG in my truck, 82mph AC on. I was suprised! anyways, it's a '55 Columbia, pretty rare to find one for sale in any condition, but it's a rusty old heap the OG paint is hiding under all that rust. this is a lot of work. I bought some cheap plastic at lowes and put my gates down and used it as a workbench here's some of it partway through my de-rusting process. It's slow and tedious work, not all of it is coming out, and It's real easy to ruin the logo's and paint work so I'm trying to be careful I thought I was going to just do a quick one day job, but 8+ hours in a hot garage yesterday really messed me up. Oh well these are OG. I can tell a number of ways, they were really really nasty, and when was the last time you saw bearings made in the US? more work on it tonight. well, maybe tomorrow night, I'm freakin beat |

Funny that you post that ... I had just took the crank bearings out of the Schwinn Black Phantom that I'm working on .. they were dry but in good condition. They are marked Schwinn natl 64.. |

Here's a really crappy instagram pic. Bought all these at yard sales: 20" Mongoose that I still need to clean up ($12), Giant Rincon ($25), and you can just barely see my wifes blue one just like in "Bon Bon's pic with a basket and toddler "rumble seat".
