I went into the US military service in 1964. My dad bought a new 1965 Ford F100 pickup a few months after I went to Germany on my first tour of duty early in my 21 year military service. The F100 pickup had a 240 six cylinder with 3 on the tree. My dad past away in April 1996 and I inherited the truck. Without any idea what I was going to do with it I started cleaning it up and making it road worth. It was a solid truck and didn't take much to make it safe to drive. I drove it every once in a while for about a year before deciding to restoring it to it's current condition.

After all of the body work and paint, I installed a rebuilt 351W HO engine an AOD transmission. The fuel tank behind the seat was removed and a 41 gallon fuel tank/toolbox combination was installed in the bed. The original '65 grill was removed and a '66 grill was installed.

Sweet looking truck!
My dad had a '66 long bed ford with the 240 six cylinder with 3 on the tree. That's what I learned to drive in. Ford sure made them better back then!
