Ok, so here's what's going on this weekend. Me and Mike are going to drag his 60 Vert over to the shop tomorrow. The plan is to work on it Friday night and Saturday afternoon. Hopefully we can get that biatch back on the road for Ft Worth so Philly will have someone to ride with :redguy:

Hey guys.....Painfully, I've found out that I have to work on Saturday. Also, my kiddos have soccer games in the morning, then I'll have to work until about 7 or 8pm. However, I'll be free all day today, Friday, Saturday after 8pm and all day Sunday. I apologize for the short notice. However, I do welcome anytime anyone is willing to give!! ;) Thanks for stepping up!!

Hey Ethan, I ran into pc issues last night and wasn't able to post pics. I was taking these with my phone and try to get the best angle I could.

Mike

I think I had some of the same problems you are having when I got my 60. Sloppy shifting and ocassionally the shifter would physically spin around. What it turned out to be on mine was for a 60 you should have a 36hp with a split case transmission. If someone has in the past adapted a tunnel trans in it, they had to use a different nose cone and hockey stick.
Qoute from Bill May on Samba when he was helping with my issue
when a splitcas trans is replaced with a tunnel case it is done using a bus nosecone and hockey stick. a bus has its coupler on bottom of hockey stick instead of on top like a beetle-i am talking about the detent for the coupler set screw. if it is not drilled in correct location it will twist coupler out of alignment and cause exact problem you are having. i think the detent is not in correct spot as it should be drilled to adapt the hockey stick(bus) to the coupler(beetle and bus) and shift rod is twisted out of alignment.--- fix=?? replace hockey stick or redrill yours in correct spot. 180 degrees from original bus location.

That wood screw in your coupler makes me think this is where your problem is gonna be at.
